- With a size of 0.2-0.5 mm and a transparent and invisible body, they live from 2-4 months and produce a quantity of excrements 200 times heavier than their own weight. The live on dead skin cells of humans.
- In one square meter, between 1.000 and 10.000 dust mites can live and in a few months they will produce up to 6 generations.
- With its claw like legs they are difficult to remove from a mattress simply by whipping it.
- Temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees and a humidity between 70-80% provides an optimum environment for them - i.e. they are mostly found in mattresses.
